In this sequel, the two groups of females and males head to Las Vegas to attend Michael’s (Terrence Jenkins) and Candace (Regina Hall) wedding but things go array when they try to one up each other at the bachelor/bachelorette parties.
The first film was one of those types of films that everyone could enjoy. It had a lot of laughs throughout the entire movie and offered a look into the dynamics of relationships. In this movie, there was hardly if any relationship development.
While Kevin Hart essentially stole the show in the first movie, it seemed like they over used him in this movie. The other characters didn’t seem to get on the screen enough and it felt like it was all about him. While arguably, Hart may be one of the biggest names in the movie so it’s understandable that he would be in it a lot. It just would have been better if they stuck with the formula from the first film where everyone else experienced stuff and Hart’s character just reacted to it.
This movie is like the other sequels that have plagued it’s preceding movie in where it has higher expectations, but fall short because it’s got the higher expectations. This movie lacked the heart and moral that the first movie had. It just felt a little forced and really unnecessary.
While it’s not as good as the first movie, it’s still a fun movie to see with your friends. It does bring a lot of laughs and the surprise cameos are certainly fun to see on the screen. It has a lot of laughs and ridiculous moments that you will be talking about after the movie ends.
Overall, it’s a fun movie to watch with your friends but it’s not as entertaining as the first movie. It has the laughs but lacks the heart. Just be prepared that it may not reach that high bar that the first one had set.
